Hetal is a veteran in the jewellery industry with 33 years of experience in jewellery designing, manufacturing, training, and consulting. She began her journey at the young age of 15, teaching gemmology and diamond grading. At only 19 years, while still pursuing her college education, Hetal co-designed the first World Gold Council trend book for India for the year 1995-96.

Around the same time, she founded the prestigious Vakil’s Academy of Jewellery Design – a distinguished institution that offers comprehensive courses in jewellery design, retail sales, gemmology, and diamond assortment. Today, the academy boasts an extensive alumni base of over 5000+, including many luminaries in the industry.

Over the last 30+ years, Hetal has also been involved with designing and manufacturing unique, personalized jewellery catering to clients in India and across the globe under her company Mahalaxmi Gems. Her forte is designing customized jewellery to enhance the client’s personality, taking into account their facial and body structure.

To maintain her position as an industry leader, Hetal keeps abreast of ever-evolving market trends by actively participating in global trade shows and jewellery conferences. Additionally, she takes pride in sharing her expertise through informative seminars, webinars and panel discussions held for esteemed organizations such as the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI), and All India Gem And Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC), inspiring and educating industry professionals.

Adding another milestone to her illustrious career, Hetal Vakil Valia’s most recent achievement is her esteemed position as the National Chairperson of IBJA (Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association) Ladies’ Wing, further solidifying her influence and expertise in the industry.
